Applications are invited for the post of Project Assistant (PA) at a Fixed Stipend/Fellowship/Salary amount of Rs.20,000/- p.m. + HRA in a SERB-DST ‘Start-up Research Grant’ Sponsored Project entitled “In vitro breast cancer disease model: A refined translational tool to accelerate pharmaceutical drug screening” sanctioned up to two (02) years at the Department of Pharmaceutical Science, Assam University, Silchar.

Desirable qualifications: The candidates should possess M. Pharm/ M.S. (Pharm.) in Pharmacology/ M.Sc Biotechnology/ M.Sc Life Sciences with GATE/GPAT/CSIR-NET or equivalent examination.

The candidate should have experience in basic mammalian cell culture and Co-culture, Fluorescence microscopy, TransWell , hydrogel experiments.

The upper age limit must not be more than 27 years as on January 31, 2022 (relaxable for 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates; in case of non-research positions, upper age limit may also be relaxed for the duration of earlier work in a project/scheme subject to the Institute rules prevalent at that time. All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules).

Duration: Initial appointment is for one year, which is extendable up to 2 years solely based on the performance.

General terms and conditions: The position is temporary and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of two (02) years or termination of the project. Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark-sheets and other testimonials must be presented at the time of interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated to appear in the interview and no other communications in this regard will be entertained. The project’s start date is preferable within the next few days of the Interview.
